Sometimes the story tells itself. At least it can if you only describe what is happening now and then let yourself imagine what might happen “around the corner” as the characters take the next step. Or, I suppose, one could force the characters into some prescribed and predetermined set of circumstances and outcomes. But it is not nearly so much fun.
